Intro
Verse:
Next week, I have a Prom to go,
I need to bring someone I know,
The perfect girl who could it be,
I guess i'll just pick the ones I see.
So then I called her for the very first date,
I even told her to not be late,
An hour all alone,
I called and all I got was the busy tone.
Verse:
I threw in the towel, then it was round 2.
Sat down at the diner's, just me and you.
Returned from the toilet, and what do I see?
A pile of food that was taller than me
Here comes the waiter with my tea,
2 dollar 50 plus GST
a flying cup, and a ruined dress
scanned through my phone to find who's next
Chorus:
Prom Queen, if you're near, please let me know
Prom Queen, if you're near, please just say so
Prom Queen, if you're near, please let me know
Prom Queen, if you're near, please just say so
Verse:
3rd times the charm that’s what they say,
First time I saw her, I said “Hey..”
Her looks just makes me wanna scream,
Cos those legs appear in every one of my dreams
Took her for a picnic, at around 2
She’s in the mood, she asked, “How bout you?”
I stood up on my own 2 feet,
I said, “I’m sorry but im not a piece of meat.”
Verse:
3 days to the prom, I have no date
Maybe its meant to be, maybe its fate
But then I think ill give it 2 more tries
Because 2 more girls just caught my eye
Drove her to the mall to have a look see,
Dolce Gabbana, Fendi and LV
She called me up to meet her at the back,
I ran away when I saw her 50 bags.
Bridge:
The time that we hang out
You slapped me that real hard
For just because I look at someone
It's a pain that you're jealous
Of a small matter like this
But there's this girl that lights my life!
Chorus:
Prom Queen, if youre near, please let me know
Prom Queen, if youre near, please just say so
Prom Queen, if youre near, please let me know
Prom Queen, if youre near, please just say so
Outro:
And At last, to all, I’ve found my Queen,
She saved her very last dance for me,
Under the spotlight we went up on stage
To receive our crowns on our very first date
Hey guys! This is the edited and finalized version of the lyrics.
Much loveeeeeeee,
Fin

Recording session, DONE! But..... it was a CHALLENGING one.
Finally, after long weeks of our music recording session and burning a lot of our energy, we have satisfyingly completed the recording, on week 6. Now we are left with our post production. We hope to make it ASAP because according to our recording schedule, we are late by a week. We are supposed to complete the music by the end of week 6 but it does not turns the way we hope for due to several reasons. However, we will try our best to keep the ball on track because we do not want to make this delay of our music recording session to hinder on our main objective of making a music video.
For these past few weeks of recording, it was fun despite the tiredness because we enjoy on what we do. In spite of this, there were also several problems that we faced unknowingly. From the first day of recording, most of the time comes from the troubleshooting of patches from Pro Tools because it has been a long time that we have not used Studio 2. The last time that we have used it was during last semester. So, I guess the knowledge of using Studio 2 initially has become rusty to us. But in the end, we are still able to carry on after trying our best and only depend with the help from our friends and Facilitator, Mr Lavanath if needed.
Other than that, there was one session that we wasted our time on troubleshooting. It seems that we are not able to find signals coming from several microphones in Pro Tools. I think we spent like an hour plus finding the solution. After knowing the problem, we found out that there were 3 to 4 faulty XLR cables from the STA Lab. We were frustrated that why those faulty cables are still given to us and this really brought a waste of our time. Luckily, we did asked for extra XLR cables just in case and even one of us brings along his XLR with him. It seems that we are well prepared:)
Lastly, there is this major problem that really waste a lot of our time in our last recording session. This happens when we came back from our next session whereby we found out that all of our tracks shifted slightly, not in sync. So, we had to manually do the shifting ourselves. I think we spent about a several hours on rectifying the problem. We were really disappointed as we still have the last vocal recording to be done. Due to this, we have to do another recording session for the last time again and then off to our post production. As for the post production, we are aiming to complete by next week. So, we will be a week late according to our recording schedule. But, we hope to cover that delay from our process of the video recording, next.
Hope everything goes smoothly and fine.
We can do it guys!
Much love,
Ariffin Kamsuri

Sponsorship
Hey all,
As we approach our midpoint as well as the video shooting itself, I'd figure out I'd take some time to read up on how to write up a sponsorship (in-kind) letter. Its mainly for props and wardrobe.
Here's some links I found useful. I'll be writing to a few sources during the weekend.
CHeers!
Asykal.

and of course a few samples that we can take and use it as a GUIDELINE!

Shooting Indoors and Outdoors
Here are some of the pros and cons of shooting outdoors and indoors.
Traveling
If shooting indoors, the production crew and cast do not have to travel to different locations for the different scenes. This will save time as recce-ing of location need not be done. Another advantage of shooting indoors is that we could avoid natural interference like weather (eg.rain)
- Ambient lighting
The indoor lighting is usually more controllable than outdoor lighting. At the same time, it is a good idea to adjust the white balance in the camera to suit the situation.- Depth of field
Having a large depth of field is a must when shooting outdoors but is not equally important for indoor shots.. Objects both far and near will be in focus and appear equally sharp.- Props
They will be minimal props if we were to shoot indoors. This is where creativity takes place, where certain props which could not be used will be replaced by other options.
-Learning of additional softwares
Softwares such as adobe after effects needs to be studied and used, if we were to shoot in the studio instead of outdoors.

Basics Of Scriptwriting
As advised by Mark, I attended the workshop, basics of scriptwriting: "How to write a screenplay" to represent our team. This is because a music video is a story told with music. This workshop could hopefully help us understand a bit more about the process of story telling & writing a script, which we would still need to do for a music vid, although slightly different format.
Here are some useful information that I picked up from this workshop about scriptwriting:
What makes a good screenplay?
- it is correctly formatted. (Usually professionals use the Hollywood Format)
- It's Production Ready!
- Visually Written
What is the Hollywood Format?
- It uses the font Courier New
- 12 point size
- 1.5 script spacing
- 1 page to 1 min
- standard format for different sections
- standard screenplay softwares (Final Draft, Celtx, Microsoft Word)
What do you mean by Production ready?
- The script is written for screenplay and not in a storybook mode!
- It should be a blueprint for movie/film
- Could include casting & Character Styling
- Scheduling of the shoot
- Location
- Props, Settings, Production design
- Could include SPECIAL/SOUND EFFECTS if there is
What do you mean by Visual Written?
- Script/Screenplay is a blueprint for a visual medium
- TRICKS OF THE TRADE: include voice-overs, piece to camera (turns to talk to camera), Animated Sequences, subtitles
What should be included in a Section Of A Script?
- Title Page (name, draft, date)
- Cast list (optional)
- Location list
- Scene Heading - All Caps, left align, INT/EXT.location - Time (Day/Night)
- Description > left align
- Character name - All Caps, centre align
- Direction (optional) - small letters with parenthesis > ( ), centre align
- Dialogue
- Scene Transitions - right align, DISSOLVE TO, CUT TO, INTERCUT TO, etc
There are also other things I learnt but the ones I listed here are the most applicable to us. Good luck team! Adios Amigos!
Regards, Amin
